Clickfunnels Review – Is It Worth The Money?

Hi,welcome to my review of Clickfunnels, Clickfunnels has grown exponentially since it was released almost 5 years and has gone from strength to strength. At its core, Clickfunnels is a landing page builder that allows you to build sales funnels easily, its very popular because the learning curve isnt as steep as learning something like WordPress, but it does have flaws which I will talk about in this review.

Clickfunnels Review

Clickfunnels is a SaaS that lets you build sales funnels with ease, sales funnels are simply a set of landing pages that focus on converting your visitors into leads and eventually paying customers. This is what Clickfunnels is at its core, a really good sales funnel builder with some advanced features.

There are many types of funnels that can be created within Clickfunnels, if you are a complete newbie and don’t know what a funnel is or what its purpose is, I’ll give you a brief explanation. A funnel is simply a set of steps you take your customers through so they undertake certain actions. The illustration below shows how a simple sales funnel works;

You see how the customer is taken through each stage so that hopefully they take action during the webinar and purchase whatever the host will be pitching them. Clickfunnels makes it really easy to design these funnels systems, if you are an experienced funnel designer (or funnel hacker as Clickfunnel members like to call themselves) then you can start from scratch. However, they have really made this software simple and powerful to use, this why they have funnel templates for every type of funnel.

The other types of funnels that can be built with Clickfunnels:

  1. Optin funnels: Usually consists of just 2 steps, one page to optin into your email list and then a thank you page.
  2. Sales funnel: Probably one of the most commonly used on clickfunnels, a sales funnel consists of multiple steps, a page to get your customers email address, a page to purchase the product and a thank you page. Further pages can be added to upsell them on further products or if they choose not buy, downsell them on a cheaper product/service or whatever you are selling.
  3. Membership site: You can have 2 or 3 steps depending on if the membership will be free or paid.
  4. Automated webinar: 3 step funnel consisting of registration, thank you and a reminder of the webinar replay.

There are many more funnels you can build within Clickfunnels, those mentioned are the templates you get access to when you sign up with Clickfunnels.

Share funnels

This is another feature of Clickfunnels that I really like if you create an awesome funnel and want to share it with others for free, Clickfunnels lets you do this. All you do is click on the funnel you want to share, go to settings and click on the tab that says share funnel (as pictured below), you will be provided with a link that you can share with anyone that wants to use the funnel. If they are not a member of Clickfunnels, they will be required to create one (there is a 14-day free trial) and then that funnel will be loaded into their account.

Actionetics MD

Actionetics MD is Clickfunnels own communications tool, the debate is still ongoing if it is any good,I have never used it but there is a lot of diverse opinion on this feature. Within this marketing tool can communicate with your leads through email, Facebook messenger, retargeting ads, desktop notifications and sms texts.

This tool also tracks your customers movements within your funnel and gathers the following data that will allow you to gain futher insight into who your customer is and how you can best serve them so that they keep coming back for your products and services.

  1. Recency: How recent this lead interacted with you through email, visiting your funnel or any other means.
  2. Frequency: How frequently this lead has purchased anything from you
  3. Value: The monetary value of this lead
  4. Social: If their given email address is associated with any social media accounts.

If you have your own product and have a stunning funnel to advertise this product with, you will need traffic, of course, there are many ways to get this traffic. SEO ( takes a while and not guaranteed), social media (build up your audience) or paid traffic (could cost you if you are not careful). However, there is another method, get other people to drive traffic to your funnel and you pay them a commission every time they make a sale. This is called affiliate marketing and with backpack, Clickfunnels has made it very easy for product owners to set up their own affiliate programme. In Backpack, affiliates will get access to their own links, stats and even tools like banners and swipe files to promote your products. This feature is only available in the more expensive package.

ClickFunnels Pricing

There are two versions of Clickfunnels both have a 14-day free trial. The basic package is priced at $97 per month. With this package, you’ll get everything you need to create high converting sales funnels, opt-in pages or landing pages for whatever you are selling. However, this package does not include Actionetics, the advanced marketing tool that makes Clickfunnels really powerful. You can still do a lot with this package but Clickfunnels really shines with its $297 per month package.

Clickfunnels Affiliate Bootcamp

Clickfunnels is a great software especially for seasoned marketers and it also has a great affiliate programme. It pays out 40% commission on all its products. It’s probably one of the reasons it has grown so fast since it was first put on the market. To help affiliates further, Russell Brunson has put together a solid affiliate Bootcamp.

First released in September 2016, the Clickfunnels affiliate Bootcamp provides training on ways to promote Clickfunnels focusing especially on Facebook ads. Russell Brunson and the team regularly update it and it even has its own membership site and facebook page. Not only will you learn about building funnels and the whole Clickfunnels product collection, you will also learn how to run facebook ads. There is no doubt that facebook advertising if done correctly, can be extremely profitable. Affiliate marketing is probably one of the best ways to start an online business and also one where you don’t need much capital to start with. Joining is free and you don’t even need a Clickfunnels account to get started (although it helps).  Click here to join the Clickfunnels affiliate Bootcamp.

Who is Clickfunnels For?

Clickfunnels is not for every business, if you have a lot of content on your website and rely on SEO for a lot of your traffic, Clickfunnels is not for you. These are the business’s that Clickfunnels can help. Realtors Dentists Chiropractors Local solicitors Plumbers/Carpenters etc In other words, if you rely on a lot of paid advertising and don’t have much content on your site, Clickfunnels can really help your business.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a software that can build you high converting sales funnels, then Clickfunnels is for you. Its drag and drop editor is easy to use and you are given decent templates to create your own landing pages or sales funnels. If you are really out of ideas, you can take look in the Clickfunnels marketplace or hire a Clickfunnels certified partner to design your funnel(it will set you back a bit). They also have a thriving Facebook page where Clickfunnel members are always sharing ideas and is one of the better aspects of the group ( it can get a bit rowdy, especially if you criticise Clickfunnels).

  1. Very in-depth review of click funnels, your post really is good and has so much information. I myself also learned about what funnels are because I did not know. You have broken everything down and made it so simple. I am sure that your readers will also like it easy to follow post. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi there!
I must admit that before stumbling upon your review, I had blurred thoughts about what sale funnels are really about,

You gave me some great insights into how click funnels work overall.
Clickfunnels seem like a really great product to start with, as it’s my first experience with building funnels.

Hope their Facebook page will be helpful!

Thank you for this very informative review!

  3. You did a thorough review with a lot of information. I learn a lot about Clickfunnels with this review. You made it easy to understand and explain very well with the images and texts what is a funnel. You should find a way to make sure all Realtors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Local solicitors, Plumbers/Carpenters and all the People who provide a digital service see this posts, they will like it.

  4. Hi Minhaj,
ClickFunnels looks like it could be very useful, but i rely on content for SEO on my website.
For a proper business website though, it could be a very useful software package to use. The price would suit a real business, rather than just a one person run website.
If you were scaling up your online business, and building a network of websites, it would be a software program to learn and use.

    • One-man shops are not “real” businesses? Huh? Maybe you mean to say that CF suits a certain market segment but isn’t for everyone. Personally I wouldn’t buy CF because their advertising concept disparages designers and programmers. CF hates-on the very people who made CF possible. And the owner of CF goes on youtube to reveal his big secret of targeting businesses to copy (excuse me- “modelling” or “hacking” we don’t say “copy”) and then going after their market. Yep that’s innovative, fresh, and adds value to society (NOT).

Thanks Minaj for mentioning alternatives to suit ALL budgets and/or people who actually HAVE design and tech skills to use WP etc. Personally I am horrified that this was the only honest review of CF I found. Every other review seems to be the zombie cult of followers or paid shills.

  5. I got a lot of really great inspiration from your post. I loved the concept of click funnels. I think I am going to try setting up a webinar registration as suggested in your post. Your site is very clean and the material you have is wholly appropriate. Thank you for taking the time to put all of this really useful information in one place.

  6. This cleared a lot of things up for me. I’ve been tossing up between click funnels and other funnel software so this helped a lot.

Im still on the fence about using click funnels because its so expensive and im also still only getting to grips with the concept of funnels

    • Hi Chris

I agree with you, Clickfunnels is expensive, and there are alternatives that are much cheaper. Clickfunnels greatest is Russell Brunson and I think that’s why Clickfunnels is so popular. I really do like the Clickfunnels affiliate BootCamp which Russell stand fully behind.

  7. Hey Minhaj,
The reason you and I don’t use clickfunnels is the same. However I would say that it IS a great piece of software suite if your budget allows it.
I’d say that clickfunnels can be used in any niche as the aim is to drive leads down a funnel. However as stated there are cheaper options out there that perform as good as CF does.

  8. I enjoyed reading about click funnels, which I had never heard of before. I appreciate your honest breakdown of the product.

I have been doing Wealthy Affiliate for about 11 days and I never thought I could learn to set up a working website. Well, they do most of the technical stuff. I’ve got 5 websites that are in various stages of completion. I also rely on the SEO, and wouldn’t be needing a click funnel for quite a while.

But I do hope to retire in a few years.

    • Hi Debra

Thanks for commenting, yes I do believe Wealthy Affiliate provide way more value and give a better chance at succeeding online. Clickfunnels is a good product but there is way too much hype and on occasions it gives of get rich quick product (especially with Russell Brunsons retire in 100 days advertisement for the affiliate bootcamp).

      All the best
