8 Best Dropshipping Apps For Shopify

In recent years, dropshipping has become synonymous with Shopify, it’s no surprise then to learn that some of the best dropshipping apps have been developed specifically for the Shopify platform. There are quite a lot of them on the Shopify app store and I have reviewed many of them on this site. However, for this article, I have chosen 8, which I believe are the best dropshipping apps for Shopify.

Why Drop Shipping?

eCommerce is a booming industry and one of the best ways to start an eCommerce business is through drop shipping. Dropshipping provides a low-risk way to start an online business, you do not need to purchase inventory in bulk as you would do if you operated a traditional eCommerce business.

This means the initial investment to start a drop shipping business is not huge, you can get started for less than $100! For a more in-depth article on how to start a drop shipping business read this article.

What makes drop shipping even more attractive business model, especially if you use the Shopify platform, is the various apps you can use to automate a lot of the tasks related to running a dropshipping business.

This not only saves you a huge amount of time, but it also means you can spend more time on actually growing your business. So, ehere is my list of the best drop shipping apps on Shopify.

Best Dropshipping Apps For Shopify

1.Oberlo – My No.1 pick for the best Shopify dropshipping app.

So, my no.1 pick may not be a surprise, Oberlo is one of the pioneers when it comes to automating your drop shipping business. Founded in 2015, it has grown exponentially and now boasts over tens of thousands of merchants who utilise the many features Oberlo comes with to run their drop shipping business.

Oberlo was one of the first drop shipping apps that let you sync your Shopify store with AliExpress and allowed you to effortlessly import products with the click of a button.

Not only do you have a near endless number of products to choose from but with features like one click order processing, automatic inventory update, automatic order tracking notification, Oberlo will help you run a more efficient business operation.

The one downside about Oberlo is that most of the suppliers are based in China, so shipping times will take a while. However, many of these Chinese suppliers now have warehouses in the USA and there is a filter inside the Oberlo dashboard that will allow you to identify these suppliers more easily

Oberlo has three pricing plans, there is a lifetime free version that allows you access to most of its core features but you only can import 500 products. However, when you are just starting out, you will not need to import that many products so a 500 limit is more than enough to start a drop shipping business.

Such was the growth of Oberlo that Shopify purchased the app in a $12 million deal in 2017, they continue to improve the platform and I believe it is one of the best drop shipping apps for Shopify and definitely the best if you are drop shipping through AliExpress. Read my full review of Oberlo.

2.Spocket – The best alternative to AliExpress dropshipping

Spocket is the best alternative to Oberlo, especially if you do not want to drop ship through AliExpress.

Spocket is very much similar to Oberlo, it comes with many of the same features and the app is simple to use. Where Spocket differentiates itself from Oberlo is by connecting you with suppliers from the USA and EU.

These suppliers have been vetted by Spocket so you can be confident going into business with them. Through Spocket you get access to thousands of high-quality products including consumer electronics, mens clothing, womens clothing, accessories, gifts, jewellery etc.

Discounts on all products have been pre-negotiated by Spocket so you get the best possible deal from these suppliers and shipping is fast, usually between 2-7 days.

With Spocket its easy to add products into your Shopify store and fulfil orders through the click of a button. You get access to real-time inventory updates so you will know when stock is running low and make any necessary adjustments to your store.

Spocket also comes with a free lifetime plan that will allow you access to its marketplace and most of its core features. I definitely recommend you test Spocket out if you want access to high quality products from suppliers in the USA and EU. For more information about Spocket and what it offers, read this review.

3.Modalyst – Drop ship high quality products from the EU and USA

Modalyst has been around for a while now but unfortunately is not as well known as some of the other companies on this list. That is a shame because through its app you can access thousands of niche products from over 650 independent suppliers from the EU and USA.

These suppliers have been vetted by Modalyst and they only use the Modalyst app to sell their product to online retailers. These products are unique and not available anywhere else, so it gives Modalyst users a certain advantage over those who do not have access to the platform.

Modalyst also allows you to import products from two other market places, they are;

Shein – An online retailer that caters to teens and young women, they sell trendy products that include clothing and accessories at affordable prices. Shipping is free for orders over $49 and delivery takes no more than 8 days.

Wish – An online retailer that lists low cost goods in over 40 categories, these are incredibly cheap products that you can easily mark-up and earn a good profit.

Modalyst comes with some awesome features like;

Automatic inventory updates – So you will always know when stock levels are low or if there are any changes to price and description.

Automatic pricing rules – Easily set up how much profit you want to make for each sale.

One-click order fulfilment

Product customisation – Edit product description and images so that they are unique to your store.

Modalyst has a lifetime free version that gives you access to most of its features, so you can test it out risk free. For more information about its features and pricing plans read my review of Modalyst.

4.Dropified – Drop ship products from AliExpress and eBay

Dropified has been around a few years and is a fantastic AliExpress drop shipping app. It boasts a lot of helpful features that will automate a lot of tasks required in running a drop shipping business. Dropified lets you import products from AliExpress with little effort and fulfil orders through the click of a button.

Dropified has gone through a lot of changes and at one point you could source products from over 30 online retailers, however, having too many options sometimes confuses people and so now they only let you source products from AliExpress and eBay.

The Dropified app is easy to use and they have a lot of helpful video tutorials to guide along, you also get access to their full drop shipping course called the 60-day challenge.

There is no free lifetime option with Dropified, however, you can test it out with their 14-day free trial. Read my review to Find out more about Dropified, its pricing plans and what it has to offer.

Selling products with pop culture references can be difficult because of licensing restrictions, however with Mxed you get access to a marketplace full of licensed products that you can sell without any legal worry.

Popular brands include DC Comics, Marvel, Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Nickelodeon. If you are a comic book fan, then the Mxed app will give you the opportunity to make money selling products with your favourite comic book characters.

The app is free to use and you only pay when you make a sale, there is zero upfront risk. Some cool features include one-click product import, automatic order fulfilment, automatic inventory updates and easy to manage pricing rules.

However, you should be aware that although the app has some good reviews, the most recent ones have not been so positive. So, do your own research before you start using this app. Find out more about Mxed here.

8.China Brands – Quality alternative to AliExpress

China Brands is similar to AliExpress but on a much smaller scale, it’s a marketplace where you can access millions of high-quality products from thousands of suppliers. However, unlike AliExpress, China Brands caters specifically to dropshippers.

They have a whole section on how to start a dropshipping business and their app is completely free to use. The app comes with a lot of features like one-click import, automatic order fulfilment, automatic inventory updates, tracking updates etc.

They offer a variety of shipping options and have warehouses in the US and Europe, delivery to the USA takes no more than 14 days but could be faster if the suppliers use the warehouses in the USA.

Its definitely a drop shipping app that is worth checking out and as it is free to use there is little risk on your part.

Final Thoughts

Drop shipping is one of the easiest online business models to start and with apps like the ones I have listed, it makes it easier.

Not only will these apps help you run your business more efficiently, but they can also give you access to thousands of high-quality products and suppliers.

This isn’t an exhaustive list of the best dropshipping apps for Shopify, there are hundreds on the Shopify app store, but the ones I have mentioned are the best rated and positive customer reviews.

However, I do highly advise for you to do your own research and see which app is suitable for your needs.

  1. This is a great list and I must say that my mind was wondering more on number 5!  Printful. I like the idea of print on demand products that I can design myself. I might not be a designer but I sure love designing things, its own pf the things I am passionate about.

I see that number 6 – Printify is similar to Printful, so if it is possible to do both I will. I’ll sign up for both and see how it goes.

Thank you so much for this information and all the best to you.
